Can you give me an estimate over the phone?

The simple answer is “No”. There are many variables that can affect repair costs. One outward symptom may be caused by a multitude of internal problems. Even apparently simple repairs can be misleading.  The only way we can accurately determine the cause the problem and be fair to you is to have the item in hand.

Should I send my Battery and Memory card with my repair?

It is generally a good idea to send the batteries with your repair, both to make sure a battery is not causing the problem or making the problem worse and to make sure the battery was not damaged by the units malfunction.
Memory cards should be sent if you are having a problem with the camera reading or writing to the card or if you have sample pictures of the problem. If you have sample pictures be sure they have not been edited as most editing software will erase or change the data encoded into digital pictures, this data is very valuable in troubleshooting exposure and focus problems with your camera.  Otherwise we do not need your memory card.

How long will my repair take?

Estimates are generally made within 24 hours of our receiving your item. Sometimes parts research may add a day or two.  Most repairs are completed within a week of your estimate approval. Camcorders generally take a little longer.  If your repair requires parts we do not have in our large inventory, the repair time may be increased by a week or more. We will keep you informed of any delays. If you have a special we will do everything possible to meet it.

Are all repairs done in your facility or do you send them elsewhere?

Normally repairs are done right here in our shop.  In rare cases we may need to send your repair to the original manufacturer to complete the repair due to the lack of parts availability, or proprietary programming. We never send your repair out to a “sub-shop”.
